A technology leader
GFI is a market leader thanks to its ability to innovate and adopt key technologies early on. For example: GFI MailEssentials was the first server-based anti-spam software to include Bayesian filtering. GFI MailSecurity was the first software to tackle the email security problem more aggressively via its exploit checking and Trojan checking features. GFI FAXmaker led the way with its seamless email and network integration. GFI LANguard N.S.S. proved revolutionary in the security scanning market. GFI holds several patents pertaining to network and email security. GFI products have received several awards.
Microsoft partnership
GFI has a strategic partnership with Microsoft - it is a Gold Certified Partner and a member of various limited access Microsoft groups such as the Exchange Server JDP program. Microsoft has presented GFI with the Winning on Windows Award as well as the Microsoft Fusion award.
In-house security research division: GFISecurityLabs
GFI conducts extensive in-house security research via GFISecurityLabs. GFISecurityLabs is staffed with security professionals who research new areas of danger for computer networks. As a result, it has developed the GFI EmailSecurityTest Zone, that is used by thousands of people daily to test their email security online; this site is regularly updated with tests based on the latest exploits. GFISecurityLabs has also developed EventLogScan, a free online service for scanning a user's Windows event log for high security events; as well as technologies to block emails based on exploits and block Trojans based on suspicious functions.

Walter Scott - Chief Executive Officer
Walter most recently served as the CEO of Acronis, a provider of scalable storage management and disaster recovery software, where in the space of three years he increased revenues from less than $20 million to approximately $120 million for 2008. Prior to joining Acronis, he was CEO of Imceda Software where he executed a combination of leadership and marketing strategies that resulted in a successful sale of the company to Quest Software for $61 million. Walter was also instrumental in Embacadero’s successful IPO in 2000. He started his career in sales with Banyan Systems where he contributed to the growth and success that lead to Banyan’s IPO. Walter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine. |

Christopher D. Gale - Chief Financial Officer
Chris Gale joined GFI from Clearswift Ltd. in October 2006, where he had been the CFO and a member of the board of directors since 2003. During his tenure at Clearswift, Chris was responsible for the finance, legal, information technology, human resources, renewals sales and sales operations functions. Earlier in his career, he spent 12 years with Apple Computer Inc. NASDAQ: APPL, in a variety of senior financial management positions and was also part of the management team at Cooper and Chyan Technology that led the company’s successful NASDAQ IPO and subsequent trade sales to Cadence Design Systems for $400M. With over 20 years of experience in high tech, Christopher has achieved wide and diverse experience ranging from private companies to public and from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. |

Simon Peter Azzopardi - Vice-President, EMEA Emerging Markets
Simon Azzopardi joined GFI in 2000 and has served as the Managing
Director UK and Ireland since 2001 and as Managing Director
UK, Ireland and France since 2003 where he led a six-fold increase
in revenue whilst growing both a loyal channel partner network
and expanding the London office into the EMEA sales/support
hub. Prior to GFI, Simon worked in the travel and hospitality
industry as a Director for two years, where he was responsible
for the sales and operation of a group of four travel companies. |

Dave Winpenny - Vice-President, Worldwide Customer Support
Dave Winpenny has nearly 30 years’ experience in the high tech customer and technical support industry and he is widely recognised for his contributions to the building of robust and responsive support infrastructures across the globe. Dave has operated at Vice-President level for the past 12 years with Seagate Software, VERITAS Software and CA and has helped to develop new solutions for global support issues. During his career, Dave has led support organisations for a number of small sub-$100m software/hardware companies through their development, growth and success. Dave holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Staffordshire University and a Diploma in Management Studies from the Open University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Management and member of the Institute of Directors. |

Phil Bousfield - Vice-President, Product Engineering
Phil has over 15 years of software development experience. He has held a variety of engineering and commercial roles and prior to joining GFI he was Head of International Operations for VERITAS. This was a multi-national sales role with a strong focus on Channel business at both enterprise and SMB level. He was also head of engineering for Insignia Solutions where he was responsible for compilation and emulation technologies. |

John Wilson - Vice-President, Worldwide Sales
With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience, John Wilson manages GFI's global sales activities with particular emphasis on direct and indirect sales. Prior to joining GFI, he was the Vice President World Wide Field Operations, for Qualys. Before joining Qualys, John held a variety of leadership positions with Cybertrust, Ubizen, The Sayers Group, Winstar Communications, LANSystems, and Johnson & Johnson. In addition, John served as an officer in the U.S. Army and is a combat veteran. He holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BS degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. |
